ACC-0900 • AccuRIP Ripcore Issue Unable to Connect to Ripcore
TOPIC: Receiving a Ripcore Error. (Unable to Connect to Ripcore). a) A Ripcore issue can occur because a firewall security software is blocking the RipCore services (PC and Mac). b) When a firewall security software is not an issue then deleting the .db file on a Windows computer (XP, Vista, 7) often fixes the issue. This same issue can occur for Macintosh users. Macs may also suffer from misplaced files during installation caused by installations from "Bootcamp to Parallels" (drive partitioning software). See ACC-0902 in the Knowledgebase.
(PC & Mac) First upgrade to the latest AccuRIP version (www.accurip.net) and restart. If the upgrade fails to resolve the Ripcore issue then proceed to the fixes below.
Windows XP, Vista, and 7 Special Note: You must type in the path directly into Windows OS "Explorer" browser (not the internet browser also called Explorer). Special Note: when you get to the folder ALL USERS you may not see the folder Application Data, it's hidden on most Windows computers. Go to the menus up top and choose the TOOLS Menu then VIEW then "Folder options". Click "Show hidden files and folders". This will now show the folder called Application data. Even though the folder is grayed out it is available. Proceed. 1. From the Start Menu choose All Programs, locate the Accessories folder and choose RUN, then type in "services.msc". 2. Locate in Services "Ripcore" and make sure the Service is "stopped". 3. Open a window and type C:\Documents and Settings\all users\Fawkes\Ripcore 4. Delete the Hot folder, jobstore1 and jobmanger.db files. 5. Return to the Services.msc and start the Ripcore. 6. Launch AccuRIP. 7. Now open the SETUP in AccuRIP and reset all these proper settings in all 3 tabs. Important: Make sure you go to "how is your printer connected?" And select "Local"(in most cases) than check "show all port" and select your printer driver. Click OK and restart your computer. If your printer is network connected please make sure you enter the right IP address. If you need more detail about network connection, please watch "9-How to build a proper Network (TCP/IP) printer driver for Mac or Windows" at http://www.softwareforscreenprinterstech.com/accurip
Apple Macintosh (Tiger 10.4.5 and later) Delete the jobmanager.db file, restart, and reconfigure AccuRIP in the Setup. Open the Hard Drive and find the Main Library folder. Follow this path: Application Support/Fawkes/RipCore/JobManager Within the Job Manager folder trash (one at a time) the Hot Folder (which recreates itself), the jobManager.db file and the JobStore1 folder. Once these files have been moved to the trash, restart the computer, open AccuRIP FILE MENU>SETUP and reconfigure the printer setup. * You can empty the trash only after you restart and have configured the RIP.
