ACC-0101 • Can the ownership of AccuRIP be transferred or sold?
Topic: Thinking about buying used (pre-owned) software?
Resolve: All software come with a EULA (end user license agreement), some do not allow the transfer of the license from the original owner while others do. Freehand's software is transferrable, once a License has been properly transferred and verified by Freehand Graphics. If any of the steps below have not been handled as instructed then do not purchase the software second hand as you will not be able to activate it. Here's how to do it properly. 1. Someone wants to sell you their AccuRIP License Serial Number, "they" (owner of the Licensed Serial Number) shall first contact Freehand Graphics and inform us of the impending sale. 2. The original owner "shall" "transfer (deactivate) then return the serial number to Freehand. Freehand "shall" issue a NEW serial number to the purchaser upon verification of a proper transfer deactivation. 3. Freehand will make invalid the original serial number. * Until the time all procedures have been properly handled the software is considered "active" by the original owner. Resale of an active serial number is illegal. Freehand Graphics has a responsibility to protect the original purchaser of the software. Once properly transferred, the new owner will enjoy the same privileges.
